The Emergency First Response course is approved by ILCOR ( International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation ) and follows the same standards as the American Heart Association. During this course you will learn CPR, Primary and Secondary Care, and First Aid. We also incorporate AED training & oxygen use.
There is no age minimum, however it is recommended that most children should be 10 years old to fully understand the material. This course is open to anyone who is looking for CPR, First Aid, and AED training for personal or work requirements.
You will receive a manual to read and DVD to watch prior to class covering CPR and First Aid. Upon successful completion, you will be issued a completion card valid for 2 years. Retraining is offered throughout the year upon request for anyone who needs it. We can offer this class at our facility in Madison WI or at your location by request.
Your instructor will briefly lecture upon the material you read about in your manual and administer a test. Your instructor will review the test with you to ensure complete understanding of the material.
Next you will see a live demonstration of the skills by your instructor. You and other students will then practice the skills under the guidance of your instructor to ensure mastery.
The EFR class is for anyone - not just divers. The principals and skills you will learn can be applied in real life and may satisfy a work requirement for CPR / First Aid training at your place of employment.
